Suddenly Sunday!

Where did the weekend go? It is almost over.

While it has been quick it has been very good. I had an early start finishing the lawn yesterday and by the time Krl woke up it was finished and the equipment put away. She is under the impression that she has finally trained the mower and weed eater. I'm not talking!

By noon I was cleaned up and ready to get Saturday errands out of the way. This week we only had three stops so it wasn't bad. Albertson's butcher block had some really good sales going on along with some of their vacuum packed meat market products. I guess that they had over bought on some of the items for the "Fourth" cook out weekend. We did some future's buying and put some of the better buys in the freezer. For some reason I prefer to have a party for no reason at all, now we can do it at a moments notice with almost no cost!

When we got home we did my most dreaded part of grocery shopping and got it all in the house. We have a pretty good system and after just a few minutes it was done. We left stuff out to grill and I also had some stuff to throw in my big fryer. I had bought yellow squash and also some waffle potato slices. I continue to be impressed with this fryer acquisition, I had both frying jobs done before the meat even needed turning on the grill! (I may have been a fast food cook in a prior life). Anyway, due to my industrious nature, not only did I cook supper last evening but today's main meal as well (and probably lunch for at work a day or two this week). Krl is loving me playing with my new toys!

I had returned a phone call earlier in the day and missed the person I was calling. I ended up talking with Hag for a while. He is really busy and earlier this week he had to take his dad to the emergency room in the middle of the night. They moved him to Abilene and on Wednesday doctors did triple by-pass. Tests have showed some old damage to his heart, the lower twenty per cent of it is not functional due to a previous heart attack. I talked with Pat late Saturday and she was at CCU. Things are not going well with Verlin. They are manipulating medications trying to get his heart to respond. Blood pressure is very low, they haven't been able to take him off the respirator, his heart will not beat on its on and they have put a pump in his leg (which he can only have two more days from yesterday). His condition is listed as extremely critical. Doctors say that the next seventy-two hours (from yesterday) is going to be very critical. Need a little help here. Please add Verlin and Hag and his family to your prayer list.

It would appear that some former business associates are trying to sell the tale that the problems we experienced were the result of money. I guess this would support their position. Actually the problem I think was their stupidity, insensitivity, bull-in-a-china-closet mentality, trying to convince me of their views. I repeatedly asked for a little space, a request that was not honored, until finally I pulled the plug and started swinging it. Now what I am hearing is "How could he do it?" Duh! I think by this time next year their eyes are 'bout going to pop out of their heads!

Krl and I have decided we are going to forego the family reunion next weekend at Lake Brownwood. #1 We don't have a convenient means to move the company travel trailer down there and #2 the trailer will not be totally put back together from the recent break in. Normally I would drive down for the family church service but not this year. We will stay at home and lollygag around the house and splash in the pool.

FATHER, I thank YOU for a wonderful weekend of rest and reconnecting. I pray for a blessed day today. I ask that YOU strike down the infidels. FATHER I thank YOU for Krl, I pray for her healing and renewal. I lift up Memama, Pepa, Hag, B., Lillie, Aimee, Jennifer, Ashlyn Kate, Jess, Dr. Mackie, Jeanine and Verlin for YOUR gifts of healing and care. I pray for those saddened by loss. I pray for those of us who struggle to follow YOUR way. I pray for our spiritual family and our leaders. I ask YOUR blessings on the efforts being made to expand YOUR kingdom. JESUS, YOU are my salvation.
