The stage is set. Procurement of extravaganza supplies is complete. All systems are go.
I began my Saturday with a full slate of stuff to do. I left the house with a list and two empty propane bottles. I have one on the grill and one on an area heater that still have gas but I know the way my luck runs. On top of that my neighbor and I both have agreed to keep back up bottles at the ready to hand over the fence at a moments notice! So I have four bottles of propane lined up waiting for their opportunity to show their stuff! I went to the place I should have gone first, Bible Hardware, in my search for an ice cream freezer. I was too late, their last one had left the store late Friday. The best thing about Bible is these people know their stuff and want to help. Yes sir, Oh the B-I-B-L-E is the store for me! Next stop for me was HEB. A store I have grown to detest over the years but this particular day it exceeded my low expectations. They had three Rival ice cream freezers, one of which now lives with Krl and I. I even gave it to Krl with her anniversary card, she knows how much work went into finding one! After that I made a bee-line for the family reunion. I didn't realize it until I walked in but I hit at the absolute worst time I possibly could have, 12:24pm. No one was around, they were either on break or out to lunch. Even though I had the best laid plans to get back that didn't happen Saturday afternoon.
This morning I planned on going to the family church service but received a call that I wanted to take and it lasted for over an hour and a half. By the time I arrived everything and everybody was breaking up. So much for the reunion. I think I saw three cousins and an aunt and uncle.
I did watch Nascar late into the night. I am not a Tony Stewart fan. I think he is an arrogant prima Donna. At least JG got into the 400 point window last night.
Our day is unscripted. The only thing on the horizon is shrimp scampi with primavera burgandy wine sauce on angel hair pasta! Ummmmmmm! Krl and I may have to break out another bottle of Thirsty Lizzard to continue our anniversary celebration! We might just lock the doors, turn out the lights, hide the cars and put a pad of gift cards to Burger King on the entry way door!
I visited with Jeanetta this morning, it had been a few months since we had spoken. She was catching me up on everything going on up there while I did the same for her from down here. A new great grandbaby, another in a week or two. Ashlyn Kate goes in this week to have a meeting with all of her doctors, the entire team, to evaluate her situation. As most of you are aware she was born with spina bifida, has had a couple of shunt surgeries to drain fluid off her brain, but has done remarkably well according to reports. Word is that there is excellent leg movement and doctors are trying to evaluate whether it is voluntary of involuntary. Hopefully we will receive more news later in the week.
If you deserve it, enjoy the fourth!
FATHER thank YOU for good days and good weekends! Thank YOU for renewing and refreshing us. Thank YOU for being faithful to meet our needs. FATHER I continue to ask that YOU strike down the infidels, humble them, show them who is complete control of this universe. YOU are a mighty and powerful GOD from whom all blessings flow. FATHER I continue to ask YOUR healing and blessings upon Krl, heal her and make her whole. I pray for those who are near and dear and in need of YOUR care and healing. I pray for those hurting from loss. I pray for those of us who struggle to follow YOU. I pray for our spiritual family and our leaders. I ask YOUR blessings on the efforts being made to expand YOUR kingdom. For YOU know the plans YOU have for me, and I thank YOU LORD!
