Why is it that the short weeks are so long?

Still not caught up at the office but, oh well. It has been steady all day every day.

Today is going to be much like the last couple of weeks. Even though we have passed the holiday, the demand on has not diminished. With many of the special promos the customer ran prior to the Fourth, stocks are down meaning a continued hustle for us. All of our trucks that are not on the dedicated "can run" are committed to running doubles (2 roundtrips per day). We are even looking at maximizing equipment by slip seating drivers around the clock. We were told yesterday they could use another one hundred trucks for today!

How 'bout this weather. I am thankful that we have a little relief from the hot hot temperatures. I like nineties much better than one-hundreds. I catch myself sitting on the edge of my chair though with the thunderstorms that build on the New Mexico line and slowly build and move through the night. Some of these appear to be pretty volatile and I am concerned for my farming friend's and family's crops. Isn't that a shame that you can't even enjoy a good rain for fear of what might come with it. It isn't going to take a whole lot of help to "ring the bell" this year, but hail would sure take it the other way. If we get one of these tropical storms that comes further west in the gulf that could seal the deal for our part of the state. One good drenching could yield a bumper harvest. It just seems like Florida can't catch a break the last few years.

Kat came over to spend time with Meme yesterday. That girl is so full of spit and vinegar. She thinks she has to do everything perfect and that if you have to show her something that it reflects poorly on her. I am afraid this might be a problem later on, too much self imposed pressure. She and Meme swam, sat under the umbrella feasting on a fruit tray and I think Kat made another attempt on polishing off the last of the home made ice cream from the Fourth!

Make your day a good one!

FATHER, YOU the GOD! Where YOU lead I will follow. I ask that YOU strike down the infidels! I pray for healing and renewal for Krl. I pray for those near and dear who are also in need of YOUR healing and care. I pray for those sad with grief. I pray for those of us who are struggling in our walk with YOU. I pray for our spiritual family and our leaders. I pray for the efforts to expand YOUR Kingdom.
