As usual, the day after the holiday was a busy one, but it was a good one too.

While I spent my holiday kicked back and in search of the elusive ice cream freezer, KO stayed pretty busy. We had a couple of trucks have problems Friday night and Saturday afternoon so he loaded up his family and covered loads. Thankfully, there was a backlog of cans sitting at the bottler because one load was fifteen minutes late but the line never stopped, whew, that penalty would be hard to take. KO spent his Monday readying a truck he had sold three weeks ago but hadn't been able to fix a few odd and ends before delivering it.

When I arrived at the office I had lots to do. I usually am most productive early in the mornings because I have at least an hour before the first co-worker shows and two hours before the next one comes in. It is unreal how no distractions, no interactions can multiply productivity. While I didn't get completely caught up I didn't spaz. I figure if I stay the course maybe today or tomorrow I will be totally caught up. Not to worry.

Lots of new opportunities lurking about. Some really interesting developments over the weekend, KO is trying to fill me in on all the details when no one else is around. We had a customer come into the office yesterday with a proposal for some new dedicated freight routes. I think the trick here is going to be finding freight that compliments our existing program. It would add some diversity and also give us a larger gene pool to draw new drivers and new equipment. I am preaching controlled expansion at this point. There is lots out there, but don't bite off more than you can chew. Funny thing is that after the last "killer" week, KO doesn't know if he can take this operation being any larger. It sure helps to have some options to look at that are not so time sensitive, especially when the "can" contract comes up for renewal in less than a month.

I did get to leave the office early. A month after the break in, our insurance adjuster had finally made contact and asked to meet. I had to take a list of all the missing stuff, he had to take pictures. Got to do that sworn statement thing. Lots of hoops to jump through. He was spazzed that there were still some cardboard boxes in the trailer that some of the equipment had come in. The larger items taken are easy to identify, but I feel that some of the smaller ones will be overlooked. The really frustrating thing is that when I left I went by the storage facility office and asked what security changes they had decided to make. While they repaired the damage to the perimeter fence, they continue to study their options. Not exactly taking the bull by the horns are we?

Only one possibility remaining in the search for a large missing box. One neighbor has not returned from holiday, so I continue to hold my finger on the button! Part of me hopes it shows up, part of me hopes it doesn't so I can press the button and put things in motion. I hate a thief and/or a liar. Upside is that some people are so cute in orange (especially jumpsuits).

FATHER, thank YOU for all that YOU do. YOU reign. FATHER, I continue to ask that YOU strike down the infidels. I ask YOUR blessings and gentle rains for my farming friends and family in Roscoe, St. Lawrence, Coyonosa and the Coastal Plains, I pray YOU will bless them with bountiful harvests. FATHER I continue to ask for Krl's healing and renewal. I pray for her, Memama, Pepa, Hag, B., Lillie, Aimee, Jennifer, Ashlyn Kate, Jess, Dr. Mackie, and Jeanine. I ask for their healing, comfort, and care. I pray for those heavy hearted with grief and ask that YOU surround them with YOUR angels. I pray for those of us who struggle as we follow YOU, keep us centered. I pray for our spiritual family and for our leaders. I pray for the efforts being made to expand YOUR kingdom. Ev'ry blessing YOU pour out I'll turn back in praise!
