I usually don't get caught up in the many talent contests of modern day reality television. I stress that word usually!

For two weeks I have watched Nashville Star, pulling for Coffey Anderson from Bangs, Texas. Big Country ties! Coffey is a single Dad and competed on American Idol a couple of years ago. I don't know how far Coffey will go because there are some SERIOUS acts he is competing with. But, we can hope!

Last night I watched America's Got Talent. Many, many people, trying to make their mark. However for the most part, they were bad. Now I'm not saying I can do better, I am no "Mike Cope sings the classics!"

However, two acts last night were sensational. The first was a four year old named Kaitlyn Maher. Cute as she can be, and she did a super job of singing. I loved it when they asked her if she was from New York and she told them she was from America!

In my opinion, the other act stole the show. Neil Boyd, a rotund insurance salesman from Missouri, sang an opera ballad and he sang the lights out! O-U-T. OUT! He grew up with his brother and Mom and when asked what it would mean if he won America's Got Talent he replied, "It would mean everything!" By the end of his performance the entire crowd was on their feet, along with the judges, giving him a standing ovation. I swear, he made the hair stand up on the back of my neck! He was absolutely fabulous! He was so moved, by all the emotion of his song, the crowd and the judges, he was in tears!

I cannot wait!

You can go to the official website for America's Got Talent and watch their audition clips. It is well worth the time and trouble.

No doubt. From everything I have seen from all the competitions. America does have talent.

I am scheming tonight. Last night I was the last one to go to bed and I had very little bed awaiting me. Tonight I intend to be first!

One more day to my parts store work week. I think I just might make it!

I hope you had a day!

FATHER, thank YOU for all the talented people who share their talents with others.
