I have felt better today than I have in two weeks! Praise the LORD! I think I am going to live!

Krl and I finally broke down and went to the grocery store. It had been three weeks! We had been trying not to buy a bunch of stuff that was going to ruin while we were in Cozumel.

But...... since we didn't get to go, we were looking at eating the vinyl off the shelves in the pantry! O.K., it wasn't that bad. But we were having to be creative to plan a meal.

By the time we went to the store, returned and hauled it all into the house. I was a whipped puppy! I was about melted down! Still the monster antibiotic has an effect on me!

When we had everything inside, we took a break. I in my recliner, Krl in her glider rocker. On the television was Oprah.

We were blessed that GOD brought us to the point where we were. We got to view a very special Oprah show featuring Randy Pausch's final lecture. He is married, the father of three, a tenured professor at Carnegie Mellon University, and he has pancreatic cancer. He has been through surgery, chemo, and radiation but the cancer has returned. There is an academic tradition called the last lecture where if you knew you were dying, what would you tell your students. The big difference for Randy is this situation was not hypothetical. His lecture was intended for his three children to see someday, when they were older. Instead, it has been downloaded over a million times on the internet.

It is very moving. I don't know if I could have the outlook he has. It is worth doing the search and reading the final lecture or going to Oprah's and viewing it there.

One really impressive point was when someone asked him, "You have become famous because you are dying, isn't it going to be embarrassing if you live?" His response, was "Give me that problem!"

And we think we have it bad. I had been wishing the knot on my tricep had been on my bicep. I'd be buff!

FATHER, I pray for Randy Pausch, for his family. I am thankful for the tremendous impact he is having in his adversity. I pray for YOUR gifts of healing for him. Bless him and bless them in this ordeal.
