We just returned home with our guest.
We are very excited and she is too. She has already made herself at home in her and Kathryn's room. She got her a bag of chips, a drink and wanted to sit back and watch a dvd.
Krl and I got tickled after we had left Nonnie's house Addison was thirsty and hungry so we stopped at McDonald's and she got a cheeseburger happy meal. I think she refilled her drink two or three times and went back and got another cheeseburger!
Our first step will be to take her in for testing. Then Sylvan will make their recommendation.
I do want to make a clarification. Addison's Nonnie and Poppy had been working with her, but sometimes "family" can't get the results an outsider can. Often times one can be played, taking advantages of "what works" to get their way. I think Addie is a lot smarter than she wants anyone to know!
A minute ago Addison went to Krl and gave her a hug and told her she was so happy. I know it was difficult for everyone when we drove off with her.
I went out to K.O.'s this morning and worked about three hours. Slowly but surely I am dismantling the operators platform of the project. Probably in the next session, which should be Friday, we may drop the engine and transmission. As luck would have it, K.O. is hoping to get done with his wheat cutting and has a few things to do prior to our attacking the project full fledged. Maybe he will be ready when I return to it! I know it is a slow process to build my stamina back up.
I sent Reid and Holt another letter today. One more tomorrow and that will probably do it as they return home Saturday.
This weekend is the Freeman-Stevens reunion. Once again it is being held in Abilene but will be at the Howard Johnson's instead of the Regency. This is our family's year to play host. Once again I have been asked to conduct the auction. I'm not sure but I had heard that they were considering playing Deal or No Deal. Once again I have opted out of the golf.
Speaking of golf, when we were waiting on Addison at her Nonnie's house, I got to see the final hole of the eighteen hole playoff and Tiger making a birdie to tie it up and force it to sudden death. Rocco seemed to have a case of nerves and hit into a sand trap from the tee and then onto a cart path with his second shot. Tiger showed his normal poise and birdied for the win.
Hope you had a day!
FATHER, thank YOU for the safe travel. Bless Addison. Bless our efforts.
