Most of my day was spent lying down. Under, behind, on top of, trying to set Krl's part of the office up. Moving computers doesn't bother me that much, it is just time consuming. I got all of Krl's desk set up except for hooking up her printer. I forgot about that, but it's not big deal, all the cables are connected to the CPU, I just need to connect them to the printer. It may not be a bad thing I didn't connect them, because her computer, the newest on site, can't find the correct driver for her printer. Funny thing is, my antique lap top as well as the new company lap top can all print to it. Go figure. Oddest thing is, we have reinstalled the software CD and it still has an error.
I did get to do a hardware upgrade for the desktop computer I use. I did away with the old monitor because there was a much newer flat panel monitor that had been connected to the old computer on Krl's desk. Her new company computer has a 19 inch flat screen so she didn't want or need the seventeen inch flat screen. I can't believe how much more room I have and the clarity and sharpness is excellent. Hoo hoo! Thank you Santa!
With our current ISP it seems like any time we make a change and disconnect or reconnect, it is a major undertaking to get everything back up and running. I was re-installing the company wireless router and lost the internet service. I inspected the CAT 5 cable and looked over the RJ-45 connectors, trying to make sure we didn't have something minor, majorly wrong. After a substantial time investment I got it up and going. I'm not going to embarrass myself by telling you what the problem was.
Now I've got to pick the office up because in order to fix it, I had to wreck it. Isn't that just like a man.
I had high hopes, but they are vanishing. Personally, I had been offended by "W's" arrogance he has exhibited while serving in office. I felt like with a Republican controlled Congress it only contributed to this arrogance and everything was rubber stamped. I was in hopes that with the new Democrat controlled Congress, a proper set of checks and balances would be in place without petty politics. It would appear I was wrong.
What I want is accountability. All the way up and down the chain. Ultimately, we the voters must be accountable too. If an elected official isn't representing us we can speak with our vote.
I am optimistic that "W" admitted mistakes. I just hope Ms. Pelosi doesn't get caught up in being the first woman in what has traditionally been a man's position and have a testosterone spike. We will learn who plays well with others. Thank goodness Rummy is no longer in the mix. I think bad input is worse than no input.
Winter is on its way. I don't like winter. I don't like snow and ice except as a picture on a calendar. The best part of winter for me is the food. Piping hot bowls of stew and chili accompanied by hot cornbread with butter! Add a few peppers or some chow chow and I'm in heaven, as long as I'm on the warm side of the window. Seventeen for the low in a few days! Yuk!
Enjoy the wind! Have a day.
FATHER, help us to hold one another accountable. Let YOUR glory fill the earth.
