Why is it that sleep studies exhaust me?
I had talked with Rian Friday and he was still on an adrenalin high at the end of his first week at the new job. It seems like he goes and goes! All their administrators attend all school functions.
When we talked he told me he was going to go get Reid from his class about 2:30, for the Pep Rally. He said Erica was bringing Holt and Baby MOses.
I had to ask what was going on.
He said that the Bibilical character Drew's class is studying this week is Moses, and that Drew had taken on the persona of "Baby MOses". Rian said the night before he had told him, "Drew, Drew. Come sit in your Daddy's lap!"
"I not Drew. I Baby MOses", Drew replied.
After Rian had told the boys good night and tucked them in, he started down the hall and heard Drew, "Dad, you not going to say night night to Baby MOses?"
It seems most weeks that Drew takes on the identity of the Bible character of the week. However, Baby MOses is definitely believable. I can see the little cherub laying in a straw basket, floating in the reeds along the shore. Thing is "this" Baby MOses would be waiting for someone to come by in a motor boat!
Cute kid, if I say so myself! I can almost hear that Texas drawl of his. "Baby MOses!"
Rian made the comment that as particular as Reid is about excelling in the classroom, Holt is the exact opposite. Holt couldn't care less! I am afraid Rian and Erica may not be conditioned for when Holt begins school. The write ups and teacher conferences with Reid may have just been a warm up!
Rian said Holt has been excited about Dove season (which begins this next week) and the upcoming deer season. If you remember, last year Holt and his Dad shot an 8-point buck. As Holt's story morphed, it finally got to "I killed an 8-point buck all by myself". Give Holt his "camos" and his gun and he is a happy camper!
Rian said Reid finished his basketball league yesterday. His team lost only one game, and yesterday they won by a score of something like 23 to 1. Rian said that every day when Reid walks from his school to the High School, he comes in and drops his books off and then hightails it to the gym to shoot hoops! Reid has been asked to join an advanced league this winter.
Have a day!
FATHER, throw me a line.
