Today I became the oldest brother.

Today, I am one day older than Fred was when he died. It is a title I have never wanted and would gladly give back if it were possible.

Hats off to Rian. He lost another three pounds. He is now two pounds away from his first goal.

You might want to check this site out, www.grantoneday.org . I ran across it the other day and was intrigued. It is NOT a free service, it costs $1.99. It is a grant writing service/software for government grants. They say as part of the economic stimulus plan there is a tremendous amount of grant money available for anything from economic relief, to business start up. Some of their customers report anywhere from $5,000 to $12,000. One reported they received a grant to pay off their home, another received $100,00o to start up a business. (Krl and I are requesting individual and business grants).

I hear about stuff like this all the time, so I figured what they hey!

This new time has me so messed up. I finally get adjusted enough to "function", and they mess with me again. I honestly believe my day has about sixteen hours in it, but my week has nine days instead of seven.

I know, it is crazy, but then maybe I am too.

Coach had applied for the coaching vacancy at Odessa Permian. Last week we had talked, and he told me he thought they were going a different direction. This morning the Odessa American reports that Gary Gaines, the athletic director from Lubbock ISD is returning to coach the Panthers. Of course he has coached there before, winning a state championship. The television series Friday Night Lights is a spin off from his previous tenure at Permian. Gaines was the Ector County ISD Athletic Director who hired Darren Allman (who Gaines is replacing).

I guess they are hoping to return to their past glory.

Parts store today. I have already been scanning loads for trucks. They are in the metroplex area. I would really like to get them split up. Having two trucks running together is difficult to find loads for. What are the odds there would be more than one load to a given location?

I talked with Rian yesterday. His pulling tractor goes to the graphics shop today. He was pretty bent yesterday because the graphics place had still not sent him "art work" for his approval. His man was off and the guy working (who Rian has a problem with) told Rian they didn't want to bother the man on his day off. Rian told him, "You can give me a thousand reasons why you can't do something, but all I am asking is for one reason you can do what I am asking."

I guess that is his administration training talking.
