This past week, I caught Paul Harvey's radio broadcast. Use to be I never missed one, and of course I tried to do the same with his "The Rest of the Story".

Yesterday we lost him. He was 90 years old. He died almost one year after his wife. He is survived by Paul Jr..

Stand by for eternity!

Saturday was a nice laid back day. I did a little work, but not too much.

Krl had called some prescriptions in to the pharmacy and I heard her inquiring about "Was it to late to have them delivered?"

I piped in, volunteering to pick them up. Later in the day, I was on the computer when I looked at the clock and realized I had twenty minutes before the pharmacy closed. (They close at 2 on Saturday and re-open Monday. So, I slipped on my jeans and boots, grabbed a short grocery list and slipped out the door.

Surprisingly, when I arrived at the pharmacy, the meds were not ready. I ended up waiting and was probably their last customer of the day and week. From there I drove to the Southern Hills Post Office to pick up the business mail. A couple of child support orders for employees that are no longer here, one unemployment claim and a couple of bills.

From there, I went to Office Depot. My desk top I use in the home office is Krl's old office computer. I had traded our old home computer for hers from the office. This computer is not new, in fact, it is probably about a 2000 version. It is not without glitches, most of which I can work through, however, one of the things I really miss having is readily accessible USB ports. This computer only has one USB port and it is located on the back of the CPU so it is a real hassle to use a thumb drive. So I began shopping for a USB hub. I found a travel hub, which would be ideal for my laptop, and I put it in my basket (when we purchased the laptop we specified four USB ports which I though were enough, now I am questioning that). The big problem with the travel hub was the cord was very short. My plan was for a hub that would sit on top of my desk, readily available and within reach. I continued on. Finally I found a high-speed 4-port hub. In fact you can stack them, if you need more ports. It has a cord long enough to do what I want to do. Comparing price, it showed to be three dollars higher than the travel hub, so I placed it in the basket and returned to the aisle I got the travel hub and put it back on the shelf. When I went to check out, the clerk rang up my selection as $36. I told her, the display said $14. She called an associate to check price. We watched as he went to another aisle and told her $36 was the correct price. I told her he wasn't on the aisle I got my hub, so he walked to it and looked, and said these are in the wrong place (there were five or six on the hanger), and he turned and walked away. I called after him, asking if they were in the wrong place, wasn't he going to move them. He continued walking. I asked the cashier if Mike, the manager was in, but he wasn't.

This younger generation!

I wasn't going to haggle on the price, but if you see something is amiss, you need to correct it.

A final jaunt was to the grocery store. Krl had an abbreviated list that I kept adding to as I made my way through the store. They were having an .88 cent sale. Some were good, some were bad.

The conclusion of our day was grilling some steaks I bought a few weeks back.

Today I will complete and box the presentation material, then set it aside until Tuesday.

This afternoon is reserved for NASCAR.

Ahhhh.

Hope you are having a good weekend!

FATHER, thank YOU. Peace, perfect peace.
