We spent four hours out and about, the majority of that at Dr. Mackie's.
My diagnosis was correct. I have an infection in one of the fourteen incision sites. Dr. Mackie told me we did the right thing coming in today instead of waiting to see the surgeon tomorrow.
When we walked out of his office I had four prescriptions and a hint of a limp from a monster shot of rosephenol in my glutimus maximus or minormas. (It was my backside in any case). Later today I will begin the oral antibiotics.
After a couple more stops I was weak kneed and sweating like a horse!
I had a rash of calls in a short time span. No telling what I told who! No, I'm not delirious yet. I had a call from Edwin wanting some freight rates for South Texas, so that necessitated a call to K.O. to confer. Then I had a call from Memama. Her tax lawyer had called her wanting to speak with me. It took a couple of tries but I finally got through to him. He is a very nice gentlemen and he thinks he can do some good for her.
I guess I continue to be a poster child for the entire family. Thursday will be a year since I received notification from the IRS of their acceptance of my offer in compromise. I am hopeful that before too long all the rest of the family will enjoy the same luxury.
One other call I had was from Chris at the parts store. I know he probably thinks I am stringing him along but right now how I feel is extremely "iffie". I had initially planned on going back to full days this week. But I hadn't planned on the infection complication either.
I'm kind of going through Pat withdrawal right now. I've never realized how much comfort there is in having her on hand to read between the lines and tell us exactly what is going on. Maybe before too long she will be able to come home. I know last week when we talked she was really homesick.
Well, to have started out as an update this post has gotten out of hand.
More later.
FATHER, YOU know!
