The Standard Times headline reads, "Bittersweet Silver".

The Lady Kats came up against a tough Nazareth team Saturday night in the Championship game in Austin. The Kats fell behind and never could catch back up. Nazareth took a decisive win for their eighteenth title. The Kats had a cold streak at the wrong time of the season as they shot 25% from the field for the game. While disappointed, the Lady Kats will realize, in time, their outstanding season. Way to go, we're proud of you!

In the other BearKat game, the boys team won their regional championship game to advance to next weeks state tournament in Austin. The BearKat boys outlasted Rankin to win by two! Good job and good luck!

And that's the way the ball bounced, yesterday!

I ran errands, going to the Post Office, purchasing gas (I had a coupon for ten cents per gallon off that expired at midnight), and made the grocery store for just a few items. During my grocery store trip I ran into another former Roscoe resident. He either didn't see me, didn't recognize me, or wasn't going to speak. Whatever was going on, I spoke anyway. We ended up talking for a half hour. The last time I had seen this man was in this same store, four years ago. Since then a lot has gone on. I could tell he had recently been in the hospital as he had a taped gauze pad on his arm signifying a recent IV. He told me he had gone through open heart surgery, had a complication, lost his kidneys and now goes through dialysis. He said he got so weak he didn't care if he made it or not. Now he is gaining on it, he isn't well, but he is working toward it.

Of course he had twenty questions about what I was doing, and what was going on with the now defunct family business. I didn't feed his curiosity with any more than what I considered to be a courteous answer. I don't mind volunteering limited personal information, but after that I become very vague.

My flashback TV station has included Bonanza and Gunsmoke. Heh, we need some good guys like Marshal Dillon, Ben and Hoss and Little Joe.

I can't help but smile and think I'm a kid again.

Have a day!

FATHER, I pray for YOUR peace.
