Whew! This week seems to be racing by and I seem to be able to get very little done.

Actually we may put too much emphasis on accomplishments or how much we get done in a set time frame. This has been a good week. Most of my week has been spent in the home office or running errands, the majority of which I have enjoyed Krl accompanying me.

Yesterday I spent about six hours working on computers! The new company computer that is dedicated to the scanalizer is almost ready to go. Crazy thing is I am going to have to connect it to the internet briefly enough for it to register the scanalizer with the manufacturer. Yuk. The other software registration offers a telephone registration option. The on-line registration is where my problem began. I decided, what the hey! I will hook up the wireless router! I figured this was going to be a piece of cake seeing as how the new computer came with wireless capability. If that was a piece of cake, it was a kind I don't like, and I like cake! I had all the appropriate lights flashing and blinking and I felt so warm and fuzzy! Problem was at every turn I got an error message "server not found", "page cannot be displayed". I became so frustrated that I finally got out my company lap top, which has on occasions picked up wireless networks when that wasn't what I was doing. Even it did not work. I have decided it has to be the wireless router. Something somewhere is just not .... ..... . . wired so it can be wireless.

And with that I became unwired!

I had committed to Krl that we would go to look for plants yesterday afternoon. We started out at one of the new nurseries, but without much luck, went to a chain and loaded down some carts, asked a person to write us up so we could go in an pay out and this person told us that was not an option, to take the carts (which were loaded crossways) through the doors and through the register line. Used to be they didn't want you tracking back inside. How big a deal is it to pull a tag and write the number of plants on it and park the carts until you return with a paid receipt! On top of that they have two checkout stations by the gate that they aren't using. I was miffed but Krl was more miffed. I suggested that we go somewhere else and she hit the gate! As we abandoned our loaded carts, the worker who was so little help told us to "Have a great day". In this case, a great day was this worker and his place of employment in our rearview mirror! We ended up going to Abilene's oldest and most established nursery, and we had a hay day! We finally stopped because we could not put any more plants in the pickup bed! Lots of help loading and the best part was, they checked us out at the gate! Worst part of it was there was limited help once we got home and needed to unload.

The last outside errand I did was to make a mad dash to the yard and move BS 222, get BS 2 and race to the body shop north of town and exchange it for BS 22. Returned to the yard and parked the units under the building and raced back home. All this before the storms arrived. Am I good or what?

When I returned home, Trc had stopped by with shingle samples. We have been at a standstill trying to get all parties agreed on a roof and window awning color. It turns out the biggest problem was terminology. Krl and I had compromised on a charcoal roof with charcoal awnings. Trc was insistent on a sable roof. Now in my books sable is brown. Call me crazy but I think I have a little more zip than a blah brown. Once the roofing samples arrived it became evident that their sable is charcoal. It just goes to show you, what does a roofer know.

Final project of the day was supper. Krl had sliced and cut all the pertinent pieces and I walked in an manned the wok. We were having Krl's favorite, Skatchuan chicken and broccoli with peppers and onions in a soy picante sauce with rice and egg rolls. This is probably my favorite from the Pace anniversary cookbook! It was goood, and best part is ..... we have left overs!

(Don't look for the recipe under the name used above because we renamed it, I couldn't pronounce or spell the other name. But you'd better believe I can cook it!).

Which brings me to the main event of today. It seems that many years ago, (the number I am not allowed to record and publish in this blog), a little girl was born to James and Flora Turnbow on this day. This little girl grew up and I happened to meet and marry her. Today we are going to celebrate her birthday! One o'clock at Red Lobster (it's dutch treat if you show up), Trc is going to meet us there and I am sure this grown up little girl will embarrass Trc and me (and anyone else who shows up) not by her behavior, but by ordering the most gigantic platter of seafood this establishment offers and devouring it all!

Happy Birthday Krl! Love ya babe!

Let's get to it!

Be the real deal!

FATHER, for YOUR love I am thankful. I ask special blessings for Krl on her Birthday.
