'Dega postponed. Darn it.
I needed some therapy yesterday. I needed to watch those cars go fast and turn left.
The only time I got out of the house yesterday was to run to United to pick up a few items for guacamole. We needed some jalapenos, some tomatoes, and chips. Krl had picked up avocados last week and it was a case of use 'em or lose 'em. By the time I returned Krl had everything in a bowl with preliminary mixing out of the way. Part of the fun in making our special recipe is that it resembles a tag team wrestling match! Krl will work on it for a while and then give me a chip with a taste and tell me to tune it. I will grab the salt, lemon and tabasco and give it a jolt, then dip a chip to feed her as I tag out and she goes in. One of the good developments the past few months is that she has developed a like for jalapenos and now realizes they don't bother her stomach! Of course this team work guacamokie can never be duplicated because we never measure anything!
Almost two exact hours after calling from Weatherford, Merrit rang the doorbell. She complains about her old car but that doesn't keep her from driving the wheels off of it. Her story had a different twist when she got here, she said after our conversation she decided to pawn her watch to fund the trip home and when she went to retrieve it, it was gone too. Actually this was a little much for me. It makes me think she operated as normal and spent all her money plus pawned the watch and spent that as well. (Provided she was telling the truth about being broke). Regardless, she denied any wrong doing. Very adamantly I might add. It is a real shame when you doubt anything your child tells you. Another hurtful thing is the ease with which she moves about and tells her tale. The sad part is that she has to remember any embellishment. Gan Gan used to tell me it is much easier to always tell the truth because you don't have to remember what you said! Any how, Krl gave her fifteen dollars for gas to get home.
I have to go to the storage facility today to get some things. It always seems like part of what I need is in storage. Later I may take BS 222 to the shop. In March it developed a problem with the signal lights. When I picked the truck up they still weren't working even though we had reimbursed Patches $128 for a signal light controller. Sad thing is, the controller in it is not new. I sent out some feelers as to where the new controller might be. BS 22 comes out of the shop tomorrow which means BS 2 goes in. Lots of musical chairs to get everything where it needs to go.
Accident insurance reporting was a breeze. Only three employees on the record for the time being. You can bet the accident insurance company is going to be crying! Related story, the group insurance goes into effect today. We still have no cards, no policy in hand, but our agent tells us today is the day. Now watch, I'll be healthy. Actually Krl and I both are looking forward to a full physical. Let me re-phrase that, Krl and I are looking forward to an almost full physical. I am looking for a new doctor, she wants to stay with Dr. Mackie at our close by minor emergency. No doubt about it, he has been a jewel through the last couple of years. I only wonder what would occur if hospitalization was required because I think once you leave his office you are referred.
Condolences to Don Harris and his family. Don's mother died yesterday.
Have a day.
Be the real deal.
FATHER, take this day and make it what YOU want it to be.
