Jetlag. And not a jet to be seen.
I was pretty much spent after the long day yesterday. I think I was sweated out, today I creaked and groaned all day. I decided not to make another trek to St. Lawrence because I had signed up to help with Oasis at 4pm. today. I get to help twice a year it seems and the meal always seems to be spaghetti and meatballs in primavera sauce. I was a little late getting there but when I did I went to work. I somehow got the job of painting bread sticks with melted butter. It took forever! About two and a half hours to complete all of them but I finally found the one I had been looking for, the last one!
Krl had a good night last night. Dr. Mackie had prescribed her a sleep aid to go to sleep. I think she did fifteen hours. She is exhausted. I had a pretty good night myself. I got up and decided not to rush anything.
All I had to do was meet KO and show him somethings about his recent travel trailer acquisition. I was slowly getting ready to run a couple of errands before going out there when my cell phone went off and DO was on line asking if I was coming out. She told me to come out around lunch and eat with them. It all worked out fine. I stopped and paid a couple of bills and then sat down and let AC give me probably the best haircut he has ever given me and I lit a shuck and headed north to the office. DO called in barbecue to Peacocks and we had a great meal finished up with coconut pie, chocolate pound cake and Blue Bell Ice Cream. It was a fun going away party! I was very appreciative.
When I left I ran by the house to pick up Krl and go to get the S-10 from the secured storage facility. We ran back by the storage building and unloaded some things from the bed of the truck. Krl has loaned it to Bobbie while we are gone. Krl brought the "S" home and I stayed there loading up the remaining supplies from storage that need to go to St. Lawrence. It all went well until I locked the unit and went to pull my key out. The entire cylinder of the lock came out and springs and plungers went everywhere! I kept thinking that I could get it unlocked, the lady at the office had told me the locks had a lifetime warranty and they would give me a new lock free of charge. Finally I told the lady to call her maintenance man to cut off the lock and put on a new one! Problem was he was between Abilene and Fort Worth. This is what threw me late getting to Oasis.
A quick shower and change of clothes and I was on my way.
Be the real deal!
