WoooWee! I am tarred!

I am beginning to remember why this is a seasonal thing and not year round! My mental capacities are diminishing and I feel I need a jolt of Geritol! Surely if I had iron rich blood I could continue on! Red Bull would give me wings, AMP would charge me up. All artificial. It must be wonderful to be in advertising and live in an idealistic world! Liars!

The New Year entered very quietly out here. Work as usual. The biggest difference was lack of patrons coming by to drink coffee. The Co-op saved a fortune in coffee yesterday! Ha! To the best of my recollection only three patrons showed up yesterday morning. Many of the guys brought the new year in and by the time they were percolating, bowl games were coming on. Bowl games, the Aggies in particular, probably account for the lack of traffic. Most of the populous out here are Aggies and when they perform as they did (or didn't) yesterday, the Aggie faithful maintain a low profile to produce as small a target as possible for the TT alumni! Krl and I didn't do anything in particular! We maintained tradition and had blackeyed peas in hopes of a prosperous year! I could live on cornbread and blackeyed peas for a while!

I did hear a new one yesterday, that you are supposed to eat blackeyed peas and cabbage to insure a prosperous and happy new year! That is a new one for me.

Ollie came by for a brief visit yesterday. She had to get back to Lubbock for festivities and to take care of her hounds. She has been named Rookie of the Year for Remax Lubbock!

Today is a maintenance Sunday. Shut down at seven. Frank says they have lots to do. We need to service forklifts. It will probably be a long full day, hopefully we will be up by seven tonight. I had a steady stream of truckers coming to my trailer asking me to phase them in at midnight Sunday night. I told them they all couldn't come in at the same time. Most of them are very anxious for some down time to recharge.

FATHER, bless this day. Rest us well and rest us fast. Renew us spiritually, physically, mentally. Make us new. I ask your healing for all those is need. Bless the people experiencing loss from the disasters. All things work together for good.
