Today is the Brickyard 400. Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Argh, argh. argh!

I love Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The tradition, the pomp and ceremony. I have not ever gone there, although I would like to. Yet people tell me go before the race and then be home and watch it on television. (I have a standing invitation from Jeanetta to come to Indianapolis).

I suppose my biggest problem is grasping the size of the raceway. Two and a half miles around it, hosting in excess of 400,000 spectators. Home to an eighteen hole golf course. The covered grandstands. Four corners, short chutes and long straight aways. The pagoda.

I can remember when I was younger and on Boys Club trips, listening to the radio broadcast of the Indy 500.

I was thrilled when NASCAR got the opportunity to go to Indy.

Yep, I will be sitting in front of the tele when noon CDST rolls around.

Rian and family left yesterday, destination Camp Following. This year is the first time for it to be held at Pines Springs Summer Camp in New Mexico. This is the second and final camp of the year for Greenlawn. The big difference between the previous camp this year and this one is that the high school kiddos are the teachers and counselors to the younger kids.

I put the boys first letter in the mail yesterday.

Well, like any good racer, I have preparations t complete before the start.

Have a day!

FATHER, rest me well, renew me. I continue to lift Rebecca for YOUR miracle of healing. I lift up the kids and adults at Camp, that they will have a safe and productive week.
