All gave some.
Some gave all.
Happy Memorial Day.
A day of reflection and gratitude.
I think back to trips with the Boys Club and George Parks. Usually we would leave the night of graduation, boarding a Greyhound Bus in beautiful downtown Roscoe for various destinations. I believe I traveled to Washington D.C. three times with the Boys Club.
Arlington Cemetery is impressive, but after all the flags have been placed, it is awesome. The tomb of the unknown soldier is also something to see.
I think about being the guests of Omar Burleson and eating in the Congressional Cafeteria. Of being the guest of Lyndon and Lady Bird (although he was unable to meet us) at the White House.
We were so fortunate to have been a part of the Boys Club and to have such a dedicated director as George. We all had our eyes opened.
Well, the Superbowl of racing was only half full. The Coke 600 was postponed until today (hopefully). Indy went eleven seconds before the first accident. Of course a rookie triggered it. Repeats of bad luck took out TK and Graham Rahal. Danica appeared to be much more mature, laid back and patient. She finished a career best 3rd at Indy. Dan Wheldon, a past winner was runner up and Helio Castroneves took the checkered for his third win at the Brickyard. The win culminated a whirlwind couple of months for Castroneves. He had been on trial for tax evasion earlier this year and was acquitted. At Indy he got back in the car and won the pole position, plus the pit crew race, plus the race! I would say it was quite a comeback!
Plans are for NASCAR to try to run the Coke 600 beginning at noon Eastern time.
I am trying to complete payroll. Neither driver got their paperwork to me Saturday. I am about to the end of my rope. If they can't do complete paperwork and get it to me timely, they can wait on their check until they can and do.
Have a Day!
FATHER, thank YOU for all the privileges and liberties we enjoy. Thank YOU for those who gave of themselves to provide and protect. Thank YOU for Jesus.
