A tough week. I am not conditioned for the five day work week, I will admit it, I am spoiled. I have become use to my three day work week away from the house, of course when I am at the house I do work. It is just at a more leisurely pace and relaxed enviorment.
Actually work hasn't been to bad. Sylvia has been doing lots of the things I had done prior to her being hired, so it has been good to refresh my memory. Max and I spent part of the morning doing hardware, which is also Syvia's specialty. I told Max I wanted Sylvia to come back and say "You did so well without me, you don't even need me any more".
It doesn't hurt to do a reality check, once in a while.
This week has been another problem week for the trucks. Try as Krl has, she is finding few opportunities for back hauls.
She has talked with one of the end users and he says he has loads he is needing to cross, but for some reason they aren't moving. Some speculation is that the Mexican mills are doing inventory. I don't know. I do know one of the major importers of tubing on this side is down for inventory until Monday.
So, we may change directions and try to send one truck back to Houston. Time will tell.
My little hyper truck driver is back on the job. He had taken off from Friday until today, and already he is griping about his paycheck is going to be too small.
Not my problem.
I seem to be struggling with what I am doing and what I need to do. I am probably not doing either justice.
By the way I finally finished the book Good to Great. I wouldn't recommend it. It does have some points that are good, my biggest problem was that many of their great companies are either in the bailout or have been taken over, or gone bankrupt. The author tried to cover this possibility, but I thought his disclaimer, should some of the companies go from great to good, was lame. I did however like his thoughts about getting the right people on the bus, level five leaders and having a passion for what you are doing.
I was so glad to get back to some fiction reading!
Hope your week is going good.
FATHER, I could still use a lotta help here. For YOUR love!
