Maybe, just maybe, I will survive this flu.

I am somewhat better. Thankfully. I am very serious about my meds though.

I cannot believe that I have just been out of the office for the holiday and Tuesday and I got so far behind. Of course it doesn't help when trucks ran all through the weekend and Labor Day. It's been a bust butt Wednesday and the same thing on tap for Thursday before we hit Friday and begin the cycle all over again. I am already dreading this Friday because with the pay being held a week back it will be a pay period that covers the end of August and the beginning of September. Lots of breaking out to do. Friday and Monday would really be good days for whoever is taking over the spreadsheets to be looking over my shoulder. I may be a better instructor as do what I do, not what I say!

Today we have trucks scattered from West Texas to Southern Louisiana. It would appear that we may be making regular runs to the hurricane areas. So far our every load in there has been bottled water. We received a call yesterday from CC&S and they gave us another day of cans for Saturday delivery. These will be for the FEMA water like what we did this past Sunday and Monday. It doesn't appear any of this will be letting up in the near future. Lots of need.

We received a call for from Helping Hands International looking for help moving donated goods to Houston. They will reimburse fuel. We took their info but for the moment every extra truck we have seems to be going on water transfers toward the hurrican area.

We have a quarterly drivers meeting Saturday morning. We are having to do some last minute re-arranging in order to get our Saturday "can" load drivers back. Originally we had scheduled it for nine but now it is looking more like ten or ten thirty. We were going to do a kind of brunch deal but that may all change. DO had commissioned me to whip up my famous breakfast casserole for the main course. I am going to have to "super size" it because I know how much a truck driver can eat when it is free! We are continuing to put together the awards that will be presented at the meeting.

KO and I are planning on attending Hagerman Automotive NAPA Store's grand opening and tool sale Tuesday. We are going to look around and eat free barbecue. Chris is flying in from Little Rock for the event and also for an eye appointment. Hopefully when he returns he will only lack about one more week of his schooling. I know that this may be a tough deal for him. He sure seems to have flourished there. The thing that may make it a little easier is that several of his good friends have recently graduated. Shelby is already moving in the Main Street bachelor pad. These will be two of the three muskateers. These two along with Kirby are all within just a few months of each other in age. It should be an interesting place of residence. Best part is, Roscoe is small enough that everyone should know what is going on there. CBS's Big Brother doesn't have anything on this house.

Well, I guess I had better wind this up. "Git 'er done! Be the real deal!
