Sunday was pretty good. This was the last Sunday for a single worship service at church and I am so glad. I want to be back on my 8:15 Church schedule.
I woke early as usual. I fiddled around killing time and finally was making my way out the door when my cell phone rang. It was Addison, "Can I go to church with you Dandy?" "Sure" I replied, "Do I need to come and get you or is your mother going to bring you?" After some muffled conversation on the other end she advised me that her mother would bring her to church. I arrived and secured enough seats for three, just in case her mother stayed too. They were late, as usual, but they did show up and brought a friend of Addison's as well. When church was over they wanted to go to Sunday School so her mother took them to their class and then she came to my class. When class was over we both walked to get the girls and they were still busy working away. We let them get finished and then we headed to our vehicles. Addie had already made plans with Meme to come over Sunday afternoon so she wanted to ride from church with me. On our way home I whipped in at United and got a big box of fried chicken, some green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy and some mac and cheese. It was almost comical, everytime I told the deli guy something else Addie would sigh and say "Dandy, I just love ...........!" I must have picked all her favorites 'cause she ate really well. She too, has fallen in love with Fresca soft drinks. Addison's Mom and friend Lauren showed up, ate some lunch and then the little girls donned swimsuits and after a suitable wait, they hit the pool. A little later, they conned Meme into putting on her swimsuit and swimming with them. They had a big time until a cloud came up and began thundering and lightning! Meme then cleared the pool and that was it for the day! After a little cleanup, Addie, her Mom and her friend were out the door. Addie has another checkup in Lubbock with her plastic surgeon that sewed her up (after the dog bite) Tuesday morning. Camp out is scheduled toward the end of the week.
Lots happening at work. Payroll data to enter for employees, settlements for lease operators will be ready later in the day. One driver abandoned his truck and walked away. No notice. I sure hope he puts us down as a reference. Sometimes the truth hurts!
Last week was KO's week to play. This week his butt is ours! We are going to work it off! He is gone on the truck today and tomorrow. His weekend of competition didn't produce the results he had hoped but it wasn't his fault. At least he got it out of his system.
I can't believe Tony Stewart won Indy. At least Jeff closed a little on tenth place in points. I think Junior can kiss his chances goodbye!
Have a good week!
