Fred
This past Friday, June 6th 2014 marked seven years since we lost Freddy. In many ways I can't believe it has been that long but in other ways it seems much longer.
For whatever reason, this year has proven to be more difficult for me. I'm not really sure why.
I begin to think of everything that has transpired in the last seven years and I know we could have a really good conversation.
Love you and miss you Freddy.
We received another rain blessing last evening. Rain gauges show from a low of 1.5 inches to a high of 3.0 inches.
With rain predicted, I took over the tractor at 7:30 last evening and ran until I was out of seed at 2:45. I was about three bags short. A portion of what I lack is now standing under two foot of water, and it has rained all day on and off. In fact it was raining earlier while the sun was shining. Gon Gon used to tell me that when that happens it will be raining same time tomorrow.
I will get Slats busy in the morning, taking a bedding bar off the 4850 and positioning it in front of the sandfighter. I will have him drop the shredder and pick up some rotary hoes to begin checking bearings. This should give him something to do while I run to Brownfield to get some spray coupe parts.
If he runs out of stuff, the barn is a mess. We have every empty bag that cotton seed came in, piled in the barn/
Memama returned from her trip to see Riley graduate. She is very tired and possible contracted a stomach bug while she was gone. She sat up for a while, but has already gone to bed.
I guess this is the time of year to have surgery if you are being stylish. Merrit had a minor procedure this past Thursday, Rian is having some surgery later in the month and Makai tore her meniscus and is having knee surgery later this month.
I got a call from Rian today. He and the boys had taken my motorhome and their newly acquired boat to the lake for three days. He was telling me how good the motorhome pulled the boat, how good the power plant ran and how good the AC worked.
I couldn't resist telling him, "I'm really enjoying that motorhome!"
Have a day!
FATHER, thank YOU for YOUR rain blessings. We ask for light winds as we try to get the crop up. Help us to make good choices.
