Now that was an ugly day!

From Chris to a problem with a fuel card, to Chris again, and all points in between. It should have been a Monday.

I am at wits end on figuring out how best to deal with Chris and try to help him, but it is apparent that Chris takes any offer of help as an opportunity that enables him. Pat has always told me he is the master manipulator. More and more I am seeing this first hand. He works people and things to his advantage, over and over.

On Sunday, Robyn was outside Memama and Pepa's house, talking on her cell phone. She had been walking out back and sat her purse down near the corner of the unattached garage. When she completed her call she stooped to pick up her purse, and discovered a snake coiled around a nearby weed. Thankfully, it was cool and the snake was not moving very well. She went in the house and got Uncle Hag and he killed the snake. A small rattler (about three feet in length). That is scary! To the best of my knowledge, this is the first one killed there since we moved in the house about fifty years ago.

I think how many times I have walked around that area, and how many kids, family, friends, grand kids and great grand kids have played in all the shrubs and nooks and cranny's of that magical play land with nary a thought of a snake. I think back to what my grand dad used to tell me. Where there is one, there is another.

I have decided it is my allergies acting up, but I have sneezed, and chased my nose all over my face. It just runs and runs. Krl has felt poorly too. I sure hope we aren't getting sick.

Rian has been working on readying his equipment for the trek South. He took off from work yesterday to get an inspection on the trailer, and to do some A/C work on the truck. We had ordered a new compressor for him, but the distribution center dropped the ball. Thankfully, an affiliated store in Lubbock was willing to let him have a compressor and charged it back to the DC who will charge it to us! Rian's relative that let's Rian store some of his stuff at his place had all the tools needed to charge the system and agreed to help Rian.

So, Rian was feeling pretty good about things last evening.

Krl had the trucks first half of the week, laid out by end of day last Friday. With all the shut downs, the swine flu and all, it has made her filling the last half of the week difficult. But she has been working hard. Thankfully the drivers know it is tough out there.

I am going into today with the Scarlet O'Harah mentality. Thankfully it is another day.

Have one!

Oh FATHER. If yesterday was a test, I failed miserably. But days like yesterday make us appreciate the good days you bless us with. Be with me LORD.
