Monday. Nothing good to say about Monday, I am not a barber or a clergyman.

For the most part the weekend was GOoOD! Friday evening, Saturday-----top notch. Sunday started pretty good but turned downward shortly after lunch.

Bad news first!

Either there was a mix up at the hospital or something was contracted from a service station toilet seat. I am going to have all my alleged kids go in for DNA testing. I am so frustrated, there is no denying they are brother and sisters. Do they not think or do they just not see the whole picture? Are they all self centered?

The three have joined in a Devil's pact to have nothing to do with Krl and me. I have no problem with this. I have my favorite people too, as well as my least favorites.

And now the reason I am pissed off;

Yesterday, the phone rang and it was Merrit from Lubbock. She was frantic, she had taken Addison with her to tend to a dog that Merrit was watching over the weekend. In February, Merrit had had an episode with this dog and required some stitches. And then she invited her six year old niece to go over with her? Go figure. This dog bit Addison on the mouth and lower jaw and chin, tearing her lip. Merrit then returned to her house on 86th Street where Addison's parents were at. They then made the decision to take her to the Covenant ER room back across town (read backtrack). When they arrived there, the ER called the surgeon on call and immediately prepped Addie for surgery. Merrit relayed to us that there was possible nerve damage, a fractured jaw and the need for a blood transfusion. Finally the call came and Addie was in surgery, after a couple of hours, Meme called to get a progress report and none of Addie's entourage was in the waiting room. More investigation revealed Merrit had gone home and Addie's parents had gone to get something to eat. I was furious! What if there was some development during surgery that required parental approval? It seemed like their whole day was stupid decision after stupid decision. Nothing is ever Merrit's fault. Even though this dog had bit one other little girl since it had bit Merrit, she didn't see the danger or concern. I told her when I saw her I was going to beat the h e double l out of her. She will probably be lucky if I don't do what I can to file wreckless endangerment charges against her and neglect charges against Addie's parents. Krl told me we were not going up there because if we did I would probably kill the whole bunch, and she is probably right.

Some people do not deserve to be parents, yet on the other hand some people don't deserve the kids they are sentenced with. I demand an investigation, these can't be my kids.

Seventeen hours after Addie came from surgery I am still seething! I think someone is going to have to come to the aid of Addison, and it may well be me. Some of the news is good. Some of it not so good. Thirty-seven stitches. No nerve damage. No broken jaw. No mention of blood transfusion. The biggest concern is for her lip tissue. Thankfully this is one episode where I am glad Merrit is a drama queen with over exaggerations everytime she opens her mouth. I am surprised at the little alarm Addison's Mother and Dad show. While initial reports were for Addison to be released today, now it appears it may be several days before they allow her to go home. The Doctors are still undecided about whether any additional surgery might be needed. There is considerable facial swelling and Addie is unable to eat or drink, I figure they will keep the IV going and hopefully pump her full of antibiotics. They have found that she is allergic to Demerol. Of course Kali is missing work, something she nor Garry can afford to do, they seem to operate on a shoestring as it is. Luckily Addie is covered by insurance, but I have directed Merrit to file on the homeowner's policy for all medical bills plus lost wages for Kali. We will see. All interested litigators send your resumes to............ . As a silver lining, Merrit is assuring everyone that she will pay anything not covered by insurances. (Yeah, right.)

Of course Merrit is attempting to redirect attention, where no one will focus on her screw up, to her attempts to salvage her marriage. I am afraid that Merrit is too selfish to ever have a relationship. She encouraged Kenny to quit his job when he was going to be unable to attend Paw's funeral, but now she throws it up in his face that he doesn't have a job and that all he is after is her money, yet she is the one that refuses to relocate. (What money?) I don't know if it is allowable or do-able but I think I might prefer to keep Kenny instead of her. If he can put up with her baloney he must really care for her and be well on his way to sainthood. I think the odd part is that Merrit doesn't realize that "good marriages" don't just happen, you have to work on them. (And I should know, I have had one of each, good and bad).

Krl and I spent a large portion of our Sunday just trying to stay busy as we waited for word on Addie. We got a lot done on the portable office setup, although there is still a ways to go. Krl is working on it today as well. I am going home to get on a major project and hopefully I will have it finished by the weekend.

I have not made contact with my neighbor still. I guess I should go by and see how long they will hold my complaint before they can it or file charges. The only reason I haven't gone back by is because I am not yet ready to commit to the pending ethics investigation. All of this could have been avoided if some people would shut up and listen and respect other people's wishes. Oh well.

I had received word that Verlin was doing much better yesterday afternoon late and there was talk of putting him on the floor. Today the news is not as good. It seems that sometime during the night he had a relapse or set back and as I write this I have not been able to get an update.

Work is good today. We have been developing some strategies and things are coming together. Lots of little odds and ends to investigate as we begin to prepare for the re-bid of the annual "can" contract. It is an interesting thing. It will renew except if you want a rate change and then you have to resign it before you can negotiate the changes but you have to continue to perform until the new contract is awarded. Last time it took them four months to get the new provisions in place. Why be in a hurry if you are in the driver's seat. We aren't wanting big changes, we just want to be rewarded for the performance required to meet this time sensitive job. I have lots of work stacked on my desk.

I'd better get busy!

FATHER, thank YOU for being faithful to meet our needs. I am thankful for the good reports on Addie and saddened with the reports on Verlin. I ask that YOU bless them with YOUR gifts of care and healing. FATHER, I thank YOU for Krl and continue to ask YOUR care and healing for her. I pray for Memama, Pepa, Hag, B., Lillie, Aimee, Jennifer, Ashlyn Kate, Jess, Dr. Mackie and Jeanine and ask for YOUR miracle of healing for them. I pray for those heavy hearted with grief. I pray for those of us who struggle as we attempt to follow YOU, keep us centered. I pray for our spiritual family and our leaders. I ask YOUR blessings on the efforts being made to expand YOUR kingdom. Raise YOUR mighty hand and strike down the infidels. Bless-ed be YOUR name!
