And the Longhorn faithful say "Wait until next year!" Adrian Peterson is an awesome running back. I doubt Oklahoma can keep him for four years.

We made the eight fifteen Church service. There had been a tremendous build up pertaining to a "BIG" announcement coming from the Elders today. Actually there were three announcements. The first involved the expanded roles of women in worship. This was no big surprise to anyone. Basically the Elders were saying this is with our blessings after much study and prayer on this matter. The next announcement was that if you want to volunteer to wait on the table see one of the communion service coordinators before services. The last announcement was introducing the new Minister for the Community-wide Ministry, with his wife and son. The complete Elder's announcement is online in Mike Cope's blog for today.

All of the Sunday School classes began a series on Spiritual Formation today. Cope will do three more weeks of sermons on this subject as well. This study series is very appealing to me. I hate that I will be gone. Realistically I will probably be able to be there next week but after that it is doubtful. Kurt taught todays Sunday School lesson, the outline was provided to all of the classes. We didn't get all of our lesson covered because of very good class participation. One of the questions for reflection asked us to compare a lifestyle focused of "getting into heaven" and one that seeks to be formed in the way of Jesus. I likened the lifestyle focused on getting into heaven as "fear factor" Christianity, and the lifestyle seeking to be formed in Jesus as "being all you can be" mentality.
