I have had computer problems lately.  Kyle had been on the computer week before last and a screen popped up saying it had performed and illegal act and to sent $450 via pay pal or credit card to the United States Treasury, no seal or anything.  So the computer ended up in the shop.

I lost all my pictures, and I was wanting to post pictures of the first bathroom remodel.  So I am going to have to re-take photos to share.  All of the tile is laid, the painter is taping and bedding and preparing to texture the ceiling and the walls and we continue to wait for the vanity.  It is MIA.  We tracked it to the distribution center in Dallas which says maybe by Friday it will be in Abilene.

Crazy thing is, the vanities for the next two bathrooms are ready.  I found a shop in Abilene with some very nice people who are also very talented and they built both vanities, a new linen closet frame and new door to match Memama's vanity and they also built a head knocker for my bath room.  The really good thing is they charged about a third of what the vanity I ordered cost.

Last Friday just after noon, we assaulted Memama's bathroom.  By end of day it was gutted.  Monday Allen and I went to Abilene and bought a few supplies, went by the cabinet vanity shop and went by the tile and counter top places.  I think he has a good idea of where we are going on my bathroom.

After five days in the hospital, they finally got Memama's heart to slow down and she came home Monday morning.  She is still a little weak so she has spent most of her days in between the yellows in my bedroom to get away from all the noise next door to hers.  I think that every day she is getting better.

Record cold temperatures lately and no rain.  It is getting serious.

Here is my goal.  By weeks end the tile is down, the tub and toilet back in place and the painter working in Memama's bathroom.

By a week from this weekend I hope that my bathroom is tiled and ready for paint.

I spent quite a bit of time on the computer last night.  I was re-figuring Memama's acres to order planting seed.  I had short rated the wheat and sprayed it with round up and we are going to go with cotton on it.  With things the way they are we still have to farm it just like we had good sense and it was wet!  Go figure.

Have a day!

FATHER, I ask for YOUR rain blessing!  I lift up Memama for YOUR gifts of healing. YOU are  GOD!

Well, the bathroom project has proven to be quite challenging.  Lots of unforeseen problems, but, we are going back together.  In fact I am hopeful by tomorrow evening all we lack is paint.

The most challenging thing for me has been choosing colors and styles.  For weeks the project ran me, but this week I finally got ahead of it.  I now am working to select accents for the second bathroom and tile, and vanity for the third bathroom.

I bring in an occasional female opinion, but I do have an idea in my head what I want each bathroom to look like.  Sometimes I can convince the female opinions, sometimes I can't.  We will see.

The biggest problems we have encountered have been with the first bathroom, because it was built in to a part of the house that was originally built in 1898.  Let's just say they didn't do things the way we do now.

I have told Allen I believe the next two will be easier.

And it has been good this is an easy week because I have contracted a cold and I feel rotten.  Plenty of snot, sinus headache.

I hope I can figure out who gave it to me because they are in big trouble!

On a grandfatherly note, Reid participated weekend before last at the LTC competition in Dallas.  This is a church sponsored competition and it was Reid's first time to compete.  He was entered in four divisions, art, chorus, puppets, and drama.  He came home with three gold medals and one silver, the silver coming in puppets.

Reid also was the starting pitcher last weekend after a three year hiatus from baseball.

His brothers are stars of the concession stand!

I am off to Irvin tomorrow for my final lasik checkup.  I am staying over and looking for a mirror for Memamas bathroom, among other things.

This weekend past, Georgiana and I attended a dinner concert featuring Revolution, a strings group comprised of the top string musicians from Abilene High and Cooper.  This group is one of seven groups invited to attend a strings festival in China in June.  Good food and good music.  It is unbelievable how talented these kids are.

I also ran into our former neighbors, John and Jennifer, while we were standing in line at the buffet.  It was good to see them and they informed me their daughter had graduated from LCU with a nursing degree and got married last October.  She is working on her Masters in Nursing now.

Well, better get.  I've lots to do if I take off tomorrow!

Have a day!

FATHER, I pray for healing.  I thank YOU for when things go right.  I lift up my friend Ruth for YOUR gifts of healing and care.  I lift up YOUR name.
